collage card
For a bit of change, I made a collage card today. I'm not good at collage but I LOVE it.
My plan was "using only Washi Tape", but ... some how, I started using bits & pieces I found on my desk... then...end up with a chaotic card.... hmmm

inspiration from {design seeds} no.2
{ design seeds } |
I was completely away from my craft desk for while...
I wanted to continue more A Cut Above projects, but I was no longer be able to do so. While I was embossing with Wafer Thin Dies, I broke 2 Cutting Pads for my Vagabond Machine.
Although I followed their sandwich recipe, 2 cutting plates were broken to pieces with scary "BANG!" noise. Each machine has different pressure and my machine would be possibly bit defects so that it has a lot stronger pressure...
Actually these 2 plates were relatively new ones....
..so I was little upset and I didn't wan to make any more cards for while....
I came back to my craft desk with brand new cutting plates today.
I won't to do complicated embossing anymore.
Today, I did just simple die cuts, using colour inspiration from { design seeds }.

Day7: A Cut Above
Using a back side of Nestabilities for embossing and to create a thick border.
I've never thought using a back side of dies. We need two silicone mats for this technique.
This rectangle die sets was my first dies I bought. I was stupid really, I didn't think I could cut out rectangle by myself! so, until today, for long three years, I have never used this die! I really think these dies are for this technique!!

“selective” embossing
This is another type of "partial embossing" technique, but it's a lot more complicated if we don't use EMBOSSING DIFFUSERS.
With Julie's instruction, I made a handmade embossing diffuser!
It's fun idea but as Julie's suggestion -"practice on inexpensive card stock first"-, I needed to find a good combination of sandwich and did lots of test embossing. I unfortunately didn't have any suitable inexpensive papers for the test embossing, so, sadly, I had to use the cardstock that I always use! I wasted three A4 papers.....:(
Anyway, after so many failure, I could make partial embossing at last .....whew....
I strongly recommend using embossing diffusers for this technique!!

embossing other materials
embossing other materials, other than paper!
Few days ago, I saw very nice embossing idea by Lisa Spangler.
She embossed Washi tapes! I really love her cards! fantastic idea! by a real artist!
Today, I was planning to use Washi tapes too, but Jennifer also showed us beautifully embossed canvas in the class, so I decided to use canvas today.
